Here are four possible candidates for Dominic Anglet’s successor mentioned in the PLQ ranks.
Pierre Moreau
A former Liberal minister under Jean Charest and Philippe Couillard, Pierre Moreau’s name has been circulating in Liberal ranks for months.
The lawyer is a skilled communicator, but he has already made it known in the past that the leadership of the PLQ is not in his plans.

Andre Ford
The only Liberal MP elected outside Greater Montreal, elected Pontiac was in the opening blocks of the PLQ’s last campaign for leadership before abandoning the race for family reasons.
Alain Race
Richmond-Arthabaska Member of Parliament, Alain Rayes is knocking on the door of the Conservative Party of Canada, now sitting as an independent after Pierre Poilievre won.
His regional profile appeals to a good number of Quebec Liberals, especially since he gave his support to Jean Charest’s candidacy for leadership of the CPC.
However, in provincial politics, he has an ADQ past.
Alain Reyes, who joined Tuesday, reiterated that his goal is to complete his term at the federal level.
“I am in no way seeking support or verifying my support for PLQ’s leadership race,” he insisted.
Joel Lightbound
The 34-year-old Liberal, who has been elected from Ottawa since 2015, has distanced herself from Justin Trudeau’s council on several issues over the past year.
According to our information, the young Lightbound will not close the door on a possible race after Dominic Anglade.
From PLQ’s recent Montreal film, it could revive the practice, some say.
However, other liberals say he has no base among the troops and lacks a reputation as a perfect team player.
