The Saguenay Police Service (SPS) arrested four people and seized two firearms in Chicoutimi, Saguenay on Sunday morning.

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday, Sagune police were called to apprehend a man who had a gun and drugs in the Arthur-Pius street area.
“In light of this information, a team of investigators went to work to gather more [de détails] “Saguenay Police Department spokesman Luc Tardif explained.
Just before 8 a.m., police received a second call that a shooting had taken place in the same area near 110 Arthur-Pius Street.
Investigation
The group that was already on the scene was able to get there quickly because of the first call. Four people were arrested and taken to the station for questioning by investigators.
“Two guns were seized. The AK-47 submachine gun is something that looks like an assault rifle, however, it could be a pellet gun, the official said.
The second gun found at the scene was real. Various prohibited weapons were also found at the scene.
“Investigators are still hard at work analyzing this scenario. There is a lot of work to be done on this file before we can say that charges can be laid,” he said.
Problem location
The agent says the place has become problematic over the past few months.
“Until Thursday morning, a search was conducted in the area for drug dealing and one person was arrested. This is a place where calls have been increasing in recent weeks and months for a variety of reasons, ”said Mr. Tartiff.
After these arrests, residents hope that the police will “clean up” the area and that Ru Arthur-Pius will once again become a “cool place”.
