The Minister in charge of the French Language, Simon Jolin-Barrett, on Wednesday tabled amendments in his bill to the Parliamentary Committee:
“Between 2017 and 2019, the total concession growth for AEC projects offered in English will be 206.6%,” the minister’s office said in justifying the changes.
Quebec is planning amendments to “disable the occupied role of AEC programs offered in English in the public and privately funded French Language College network.” Granted and non-subsidized private, except holders ”.
“This verified knowledge of the French language will allow the student to communicate and thrive in the Quebec community and participate in its development. The form that this requirement will take will be defined by the regulation of the French Language Minister,” the office of Minister Joel-Barrett announced without further details.
At the end of February, the Legault government once closed the door on the use of Bill 101 in the CEGEP, which was discussed in the Government Committee itself. Quebec instead modified the reform of the French language charter, imposing three courses taught in French for all students of English-speaking CEGEPs to receive their diploma.
