The decision has sparked a number of reactions and seems to go against the rhetoric made public by the government in recent months.
The Quebec government says analyzes have found significant amounts of methane in the quadrangle, located in the Boulevard de la Carrière and Rue d’Edmonton.
In an interview with TVA Gatineau-Ottawa, Minister Mathieu Lacombe acknowledged that the decision to restart the analysis process was not taken lightly.

“The work is progressing and problems arise and there are challenges that arise before us,” says the minister responsible for the Outauais region.
However, in recent weeks, government members have declined to indicate that the option to review the sites is being considered.
The government, however, says it is fully aware of the difficulty of the question of expropriation, but the process has proved more complicated than expected.
He cites specific difficulties related to the mobility of telecommunications infrastructure, which represents a key issue in the schedule.
However, the CAQ assures that the ultimate objective is to avoid delays in providing the regional hospital center as quickly as possible.
“As the minister responsible for the Otaouais region, our commitment is to provide a hospital for all residents of the region and to do it as quickly as possible,” said Mr. Lacombe said. “We need to look at these Plan Bs.”
