The criminals deliberately ran into a woman who stole a luxury car in Gatineau a few days ago. The crime took place on Sunday afternoon.
The owner of a shiny Lexus IS 300 contacted police to report that his vehicle had been stolen.
The 27-year-old owner was able to locate his car in the Lac Leamy area using the GPS system.
When she saw her vehicle and approached it, the driver deliberately drove into her and hit her. Fortunately, she was not injured.
Two suspects were in the stolen Lexus at the time, and the car was quickly located by police on Notre-Dame Street near Maloney Boulevard.
“The vehicle was then traveling at a good rate of speed and a police pursuit was carried out but was immediately canceled by the police due to the high safety risks,” Catino police said in a press release.
The patrol officers contacted their colleagues from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) and informed them of the situation.
SQ Police were finally able to locate and intercept the vehicle containing the two suspects on Highway 50 not far from Montebello.
Two people were arrested. The cases were a 37-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both living in Red Deer, Alberta.
Brand’s John Beach has been formally charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of property, dangerous driving and obstructing a police officer.
His accomplice, Ireland Bernadette Roy, was charged with receiving stolen goods, drug possession and obstructing a police officer.
Since the beginning of this year, the police of Cadino have reported that no less than 230 luxury vehicles have been registered for theft in its territory.
