A Floridian woman was handcuffed Thursday in addition to the six arrests Peel Regional Police announced Wednesday in connection with last year's theft of 400 kilograms of gold bars worth $20 million at Pearson Airport.

The indictment of Jalisa Edwards, a 25-year-old Fort Lauderdale woman, was announced by the Pennsylvania District Attorney's Office on Tuesday along with charges against three other suspects named by Peel police. The woman was finally arrested on Thursday The Globe and Mail In the evening.
According to US prosecutors, one of the suspects of interest on both sides of the border, Durante King-McLean, 25, of Brampton, Ontario, was arrested on September 2, 2023 in Pennsylvania. Peel police said Wednesday that 6,600 gold bars and $2.5 million in cash stolen from an Air Canada warehouse may have been melted down and used specifically to buy illegal weapons.
