What you need to know
- YouTube Premium subscribers can save $125 when they purchase a Google Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro.
- Offer can be combined with other holiday offers for a total savings of up to $325.
- Google is launching holiday deals exclusively for some users, and is releasing the YouTube Premium deal right after it’s sent to Google Play Points users.
Google is offering some great deals for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro ahead of the holidays, and you can save up to $325. Some offers are available to everyone, others are for Google’s most loyal customers. The company’s latest offer is for YouTube Premium subscribers, who get a discount of $125 when they purchase a Pixel 8 series phone.
This deal could make flagship phones, which are some of the best available, cheaper. It is available to persons who reside in the United States, are 18 years of age or older, and have a shipping address in the United States. Eligible people receive a unique code via email through their YouTube Premium Google Account.
It’s important to note that, unlike most Google Store discounts, this YouTube Premium deal can be combined with Google’s standard holiday offer. The holiday discount is available to everyone through December 18 and takes $150 off the Pixel 8 and $200 off the Pixel 8 Pro. Combined with the $125 discount, YouTube Premium subscribers can get the Pixel 8 for approximately $424 or the Pixel 8 Pro for $674.
This exclusive deal for YouTube Premium members ends on December 23, but you’ll need to make a potential purchase by December 18 to get a bigger, stacked discount.
Hesitant people now have a reason to get a Pixel 8 series smartphone. You probably won’t find a better deal on these phones available to everyone for a while. The aforementioned YouTube Premium deals undercut Google’s Black Friday deals by a significant margin.
This is the second exclusive deal Google is offering this week, giving Gold, Platinum or Diamond members of the Play Points program a 40% discount on select Pixel devices.
However, the flip side of this may not be so great. Google is asking its paying customers to email offers that may be unwanted or unnecessary to existing Pixel 8 series device owners. YouTube Premium received a price hike to $14 per month in July, and subscribers who started their subscription before the increase will see their prices rise in January.
Obviously, the monthly fee removes ads on YouTube but does not remove promotional emails from Google.
The best of the best
The Pixel 8 Pro is one of the best phones you can buy. Not only does it have a gorgeous design, but the Tensor chipset enables amazing AI capabilities that are only available on a phone. And during the holidays, you can get one surprisingly cheap.
