At 1:30 yesterday afternoon, a 50-year-old man was shot in the upper body while sitting in the Napoli pizzeria on rue Saint-Denis. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“I take this opportunity to wish everyone a good day. We start the morning with coffee and it’s great. I love life. Very good, very beautiful, very sweet,” Diego Fiorida said in a video on his Facebook page that same morning.
Then he adds with a smile on his face. “Coffee in the rain, but a roof, a blanket that shelters me. You have to appreciate such a moment. Whoever you are, I invite you to join me. You are welcome anytime, I will wait for you.
“Meanwhile, I continue to enjoy life. I wish you a good day and I hope you do the same as me, that is, try to make time, try to enjoy all your duties, because there is only one thing to live, so don’t miss it, he makes blowing a kiss. Take care,” concludes Diego Fiorida.
At the time of her death, Fiorita Lee was facing criminal charges for making threats and harassing communications in a marital context, according to court documents seen by the Journal de Montreal.
Yesterday, 30 minutes before Diego Fiorida was shot, another man was killed in the Rockland Center parking lot in Mount Royal.
At the time of writing, the SPVM has not indicated whether they have one or more suspects in their sights in connection with these two crimes.
