A relative of Hells Angels number one Martin Robert has been arrested in Mexico for possession of guns and drugs.
Eric Blue, 41, was arrested Tuesday evening in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
Local media reported that he was then accompanied by another 33-year-old Canadian, nicknamed “Allard”, in the van. Public security officers from Solidaridad tried to intercept them, but the two fled in their Ford F-150. They were finally arrested after a police chase, according to Mexican media.
Local authorities said the two men had a gun and several bags of methamphetamines.
Drug trafficking
Blue is an influential member of the Marauders, the main school club of the Montreal chapter of the Hells Angels.
A raid on his home in Deux-Montagnes was conducted last spring in connection with “drug trafficking targeting a group associated with the Hells Angels,” said Marc Tessier, a spokesman for the regional joint force.
Police also searched Eric Blue's mother's home in Mirabell, looking for possible evidence.
However, no charges have been filed against him in the case.
In 2015, Blue was sentenced to five years in prison for manufacturing methamphetamine pills and trafficking them in Laurentians.
Then, in 2016, he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison in connection with another network for the production and trafficking of the same drug, but this time in Saguenay.
Close to hell
Eric Blue is considered by police to be close to Martin Robert, the most influential member of the Hells Angels in Quebec, who allegedly controls drug trafficking in the Laurentides region.
The powerful Helles finds himself at the center of a wider police investigation into drug trafficking led by the National Organized Crime Squad.
