Here’s what’s worth and what’s not

Finally, we’re hustling over my all-time favorite side – blogging and content creation. I created my blog between successive layoffs in 2017 as a creative outlet. I used it to document the other side hustle I was doing at the time and to trace our journey to paying off debt and eventually financial freedom.

This blog later became a two-time award-winning side hustle, money, and career blog for neurotic and LGBTQ+ individuals. Featured on The New York Times, TIME, MSN, CNBC, Business Insider, and more, it helps thousands of people start and build a side hustle every month — starting with Free Side Hustle Competition.

I brought in $60,000 from my blog last year along with my full time job. It’s also what introduced me to many other remote side businesses that I still use today for monetization. Some of these businesses are freelance writing, course creation, coaching, and more.

The blog itself is not a source of income either. It makes money in many ways, including income from ads on the blog, affiliate marketing, the products I sell through the blog store, social media, and brand partnerships.

Starting and building this blog has given me a whole new set of skills and an outlook on how I work. So much so that I quit my day job last month to run my blog full time while also playing with some of my favorite creative side jobs at the same time.

It literally changed my whole life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
