The Quebecer vehicle, which was stolen last year, was found at the Port of Montreal, but was found these days at auction in Belgium after being seized by police.
This surreal story is the first to be narrated Pres Wednesday morning, reported by Benoit Rochelleau on QB Radio.
The latter took a tumble when he learned his Jeep Gladiator had a decal bearing the name of his company's Concept BBQ in the port of Antwerp, Belgium.
“It's very special, especially since it's already been several months. We had to buy a new vehicle, and life goes on,” Mr. Rocheleau told host Mario Dumont.
The latter is very surprised because his vehicle was actually found in Quebec.
“Last summer, a police investigator called me and told me they found my vehicle in the Port of Montreal,” Mr. Rochello promised.
Since the latter had already reported the theft to his insurer and was compensated, he did not get his Jeep back. For some mysterious reason, the vehicle, like many other stolen cars, ended up in a sea container and finally ended up in Belgium, where the police seized it.
Jeep now Offered for auction by AuctionPort, This indicates that it is a Canadian-registered, undocumented vehicle.
History does not say how a stolen vehicle found by police at the port was exported to Europe.
Benoît Rocheleau, for his part, had to deal with the side effects of having his Jeep stolen: an increase in his insurance premium.
“I had to find an insurance company because the prices were exorbitant,” he told QUB radio.
