(OTTAWA) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will travel to Jamaica next week for a family vacation during the holiday season.
From December 26 to January 4 Mr. Trudeau will visit the Caribbean country with his immediate family, the Prime Minister's Office said.
Mr. When Trudeau and his family went to British Columbia for a summer vacation after Christmas last year and in August this year, Jamaica was also here.
He will travel with Sophie Gregoire after the couple announced earlier this year that they were separating after 18 years of marriage.
At the time, the Prime Minister's Office said Canadians could expect to see the family together, and the two said in private statements that they would remain close.
The office says it consulted with the federal ethics commissioner before the upcoming trip and that the family will cover the cost of their lodging and travel on a government plane.
Mr. Trudeau will also stay in touch with employees and get briefings on current issues.
