The driver of a fire truck involved in an accident that seriously injured a motorist in Amgi on Sunday has been arrested for drunken driving.
Emergency services were called to Route 195 after a collision between a pickup truck and a fire truck from the MRC de la Matapadia fire department at 3:45 p.m.
The on-call emergency vehicle was traveling southbound on Park Avenue (Route 195) when it failed to stop at the Gentron Street intersection when the driver of a pickup truck cut it off.

Due to the collision between the two vehicles, the fire engine overturned on its side.
A woman in her sixties who was driving the van was seriously injured.
An on-duty firefighter was arrested for drunken driving.
“The 45-year-old man was taken to the police station to provide a breath alcohol sample,” confirmed Sûreté du Québec spokesman Stéphane Tremblay.
He was to be released on a promise to appear.
The other two firefighters in the truck were not injured.
