Protesters gathered in Ottawa on Saturday to create a smaller version of the “Freedom Series”, according to the city police.
Considering the safety of the people, a restricted lane has been set up for the convoy to move quickly. Heavy police security was put in place, blocking roads and restricting traffic.
Bridges, roads and intersections that were closed in the afternoon were able to reopen at 5:30 pm, with no casualties so far. Police are now closely monitoring the eastbound protest on Highway 417.
