The Roussillon Intermunicipal Police Board is investigating the mysterious case of a baby girl who gave birth in a car parked in the middle of the street in La Prairie on Thursday.
“The woman and her child were rushed to the hospital centre. Maneuvers were performed on the child, but he was in critical condition and we were afraid of him at the hospital,” explains Patrick Jasmin, Public Relations Officer for the Cooperative of Ambulance Technicians of Monteregi (CETAM).
For his part, the police confirmed that they received a call from the 38-year-old mother at 3:56 a.m. after the delivery.
“The mother gave birth in her vehicle on rue des Ardennes. Today we can say that she is not in a position to discuss with our investigators,” summed up agent David Johnson of the Roussillon police.
