The Nintendo Switch version of one of the best-selling games of the year, Hogwarts Legacy, has finally been released.
With minimal marketing for the Switch port from publisher Warner Bros., today is the first time we’ve been able to see how developer Avalanche Software has managed to squeeze the sprawling open-world game onto mobile devices.
Comparison video posted by a YouTube user SICO1 – Embedded below – shows how Hogwarts Legacy’s Switch graphics compare to PlayStation 5.
Another channel on YouTube, Fillposted her impressions of the Switch port on Tuesday, noting that the game “could have been a lot worse” and that the game on mobile devices in particular “runs reasonably well.”
According to the YouTube channel, the Switch version offers loading times of 30 to 50 seconds for its open world in order to play it.
“None of these things are deal-breakers for most people, but in terms of gameplay, having to load between each store in a town of about 10 to 15 blocks, it definitely affects the flow,” the channel notes.
