The long-awaited PC release of Red Dead Redemption appears to be imminent as the PlayStation Store has bizarrely claimed that the game is “now on PC.”
That’s not true of course, as Red Dead Redemption is still only available on consoles despite launching in 2010, but the update to the official PlayStation description certainly suggests that things are happening behind the scenes. This comes after Rockstar Games’ website also mentioned a PC release in May 2024.
“Enjoy the epic Western adventures that defined a generation – now on PC for the first time ever.” Playstation Store Read the page as noted. @Wario64 On X/Twitter. “It also includes Undead Nightmare, the iconic horror story that turns the world of Red Dead Redemption into a battle for survival against hordes of zombies.”
The post goes on to mention more PC elements: “Red Dead Redemption features the full single-player experiences for both games, including additional content from the Game of the Year Edition, and features all of the 2023 console version’s upgrades as well as PC-specific enhancements including support for increased resolutions and frame rates, multiple monitors and other peripherals, and spatial surround sound.”
The description then explains that this version of the game does not include multiplayer content, but PC fans likely won’t mind this and will finally be happy to pick up the game as it approaches its 15th anniversary.
Rockstar has long neglected PC gamers, not releasing Grand Theft Auto 5 on PC at the same time as it did on consoles, but rather releasing it a year later. The same goes for Grand Theft Auto 6, which is likely to be the biggest video game launch ever, as no PC release has been announced.
