“I’ve been kicking around this game for a long time.”

Playing love against pressure was the key to the contest. The QB went 12 of 17 for 100 yards with three TDs for a 125.-0 passer rating on offense Sunday night, according to Next Gen Stats.

“I think personally, just being able to see things,” Love said of his play against the blitz. “I have more reps, I’m more comfortable, I understand where I have to go with the ball. I think the O-line does a great job just being able to pick up those things. It’s not easy when ‘they’re bringing it all in, some of these blitzes, things like that But they did a great job of giving me time and then the recipients, clearly understanding when they needed to be open and for how long. “We got that and then we went out there and made a play. It’s definitely something we practice as a team. We know some teams are going to make that happen and we have to be able to execute and go out there and make sure they don’t do it again.”

It’s clear that Love has come a long way since starting that first career over two years ago. His play also grew throughout his first full season as a starter.

After a shaky start to the campaign, the love rate has risen. Since Week 7, after the Packers’ bye, Love has caught 14 TD passes, the second-most in the NFL during that span, behind only Dak Prescott. His increased comfort in the pocket and confidence in his vision and allowing it to rip has opened up Green Bay’s offense. He’s also finally starting to connect with some of those deep shots that flutter unfortunately on the turf early in the season.

Love’s play puts the Packers on a three-game winning streak, including the last two playoff berths (Detroit, Kansas City). After a 2-5 start, Green Bay sits at 6-6 and in the final wild card spot. Given their play and soft schedule down the stretch (no opponents have a record better than .500), the playoffs have gone from a long shot to a possibility in the last few weeks.

After entering the season with a bunch of questions coming out of the gate, Love showed the kind of growth, maturity and talent that should have Packers fans thrilled about the trajectory under center.
