John Cena has returned to WWE amid the SAG-AFTRA strike but as talks between the actors’ union and AMPTP resume, Cena’s time in the wrestling ring may be running out.
During a press conference after WWE FastlaneThe star talked about how much it would hurt the people around him if he suffered a wrestling injury while continuing his work as an actor.
“I made it clear that you can’t do both because of liability insurance. If I try to juggle the two, it’s very selfish because I’m going to put a lot of people in the movie business out of business if something happens to me,” Cena said.
With the actors on strike, Cena appeared in WWE but said that once the deal was settled, he would have to leave the ring again.
He continued: “Yes, I stopped a project in the middle of it, and I cannot even talk about the project because of the strike, but we are in the middle of it.” “Once we’re back to work, we’ll be back to work. I don’t control any of that. I’m crossing my fingers and hoping we can find a solution that satisfies everyone. Right now, I feel like this is the best way I can help. To come home to my family.” “
In September of this year, when Cena returned to WWE, he talked about his eventual retirement.
He said during an interview: “As I said there in the ring, the last match is not tonight, but I know it is close.” “Every opportunity I get to get out there becomes more and more special. There’s no denying the fact that I’m 46 and I’m 47. I’ve been here for over two decades. Like I said out there in the ring, the last match is not tonight, but I know that Close. To be honest, when you’re involved in this every day full time, you’re just thinking about what’s next.
Cena has several projects which include the second season of peace maker In max.
