Rachel Ziegler gets candid about the real reason she joined the DC Universe and it totally relatable.
while talking with Hollywood Reporter In the Shazam! Wrath of the Gods premiere tuesday, West Side Story The actress said she stepped into the role of Anthea because she “needed a job. I’m very serious.”
“The truth is, we’re in the middle of a pandemic and I haven’t been working and haven’t been able to get a job my whole life, because West Side Story It’s not out yet,” she admitted. “It was really hard to book me a job.”
Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film follows Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and his fellow foster children as they continue to navigate their teenage years alongside their adult superhero alter egos. Just this time, a trio of Old Gods, the daughters of Atlas – Hespera (Helen Mirren), Calypso (Lucy Liu), and Anthea (Zigler), arrive to search for the magic that was previously stolen from them. Billy’s adult superhero, Shazam (Zachary Levi), must team up with his allies to save the world.
Ziegler went on to explain how excited she was when she first learned about the role and eventually landed it. She added, “I loved the first movie, and the fact that they wanted me to come in for a call and then do a camera read and then everything in between, I’m so lucky I got that job.” “I’ve made some of my best friends on this job. I just absolutely love this movie too, so I’m excited.”
