Juicy Smollett He may have gone straight from his prison cell to the studio…because he just dropped a new song as he takes up his case in court.
The former “Empire” star released a single on Friday called “Thank You God,” and some of the lyrics were quite interesting considering his recent circumstances.
Josie sings… “Some people are chasing this influence / Just remember this… This is not this situation / Do you think I’m stupid enough to kill my reputation?”

The song comes on the heels Jussie released in prison awaiting his appeal. He came out about 3 weeks ago, and seems to have put the song together at the time.
Jussie also sings… “It’s like they’re so intent on not solving the crime / Getting rid of the race, trans, and gay elements outright taking lives / But turn around and act like I’m the one who killed strides.”
He dedicated the song to “the people who kept it real, who kept it healthy”… He says he donated all of the track’s profits to the Rainbow Push Alliance, Secure the Bag Safety and the Illinois Innocence Project.
