The body of a kayaker who went missing two weeks ago in the waters of the St. Lawrence River was found near Matanai on Thursday.

Passers-by walking along the beach between Baie-des-Sables and Saint-Ulric made the gruesome discovery in the afternoon.
“Analysts and [un] A forensic identification technician went to the site to clarify the causes and circumstances of death,” explains Stephane Tremblay, spokesman for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Experts have been engaged to confirm the identity of the person found. It’s Paul-Alexandre Panko, 41, from Longueuil, who has been missing for two weeks.
The deceased’s vehicle was found near Notre-Dame-du-Portage on May 21. Five days later, near Pointe-au-Père, authorities were able to get their hands on his kayak.
