baby rocker And Bruce Springsteen Head-to-head in an unofficial online fan survey – and you wouldn’t know it…it’s politics as usual, again.
Someone asked the weird question this weekend… and Twitter simply asked, “Bruce Springsteen or Kid Rock” — and boy, did the bird app give it a piece of their mind. Look, this has turned into political slander – as these things often do.

Of course, Kid is more associated with right-wing views – as you can imagine, people who lean this way have been coming out fiercely in defense of KR… They call Bruce as a leftist, etc. Chief – they were also giving names.
Interestingly, the original questioner attempted to weed out associations and connotations that each artist might carry outside of music, and answered her question based solely on skill. In her mind, she doesn’t think Bruce is all he’s cracked up to be.
Politics aside, when I heard Bruce and his tense, almost harmonious songs come on the radio.. I changed the channel.

Most music lovers will probably disagree with her…and the proof is here with the harsh and cold numbers. While musical flair is definitely a personal thing – you can’t deny that Bruce runs laps around Kidd when it comes to hit singles, sales, and the big picture of popularity in general.
On the Billboard chart alone, Bruce took the cake – he had a total of 26 songs that reached Billboard’s Hot 100, 12 of which topped the Top 10… with “Secret Garden” and “Dancing in the Dark” for 23 and 21 weeks respectively.
Meanwhile, Kid has only 6 songs that have reached the Hot 100, and only one song that has reached the Top 10. It will be “Picture”, which has been tightly hung on the chart for 34 weeks.
And in net numbers only for units sold – Bruce, again, beats the Kid… He’s generated about 150 million record sales worldwide, compared to KR 27 million. So it’s not really a contest or a matter of opinion in that regard… Bruce, objectively, outperformed the kid.
Like we said, the discourse about this strange juxtaposition seems to have turned into little more than a Democratic versus Republican chat – where each camp comes to the defense of its artist.
That’s the way the world has been lately, we suppose – but again, to each and every one of them. With that, we’ll be asking the question here… who’s better, Kid or Bruce???
Who got it – the kid or the boss???
Leaving politics entirely, of course… That’s what piques our curiosity. mute!
