We’re less than a month away from the potential release date of the iPhone 16, and we have our first big clue about how much Apple’s new phones will cost.
On X, a regular Apple leak site, Apple CenterApple has shared a number of technical specifications for the entire iPhone 16 lineup, including the initial prices for each model.
Surprisingly, Apple seems to be keeping the iPhone 16 pricing the same as the iPhone 15 series — at least for most of the phones. Over the summer, when Apple’s smartphone rivals raised their prices, we can feel our wallets getting a little more comfortable. This pricing news alone could push the iPhone 16 models to the top of our best iPhone list.
The only change we can see in the Apple Hub leaks is for the iPhone 16 Pro. It’s supposed to start at $1,099, a $100 premium over the iPhone 15 Pro. However, it seems like Apple has some changes planned for this new phone. In addition to a larger display and the adoption of a new telephoto lens, the iPhone 16 Pro appears to start with 256GB of storage. This is the same move Apple made last year, when it raised the prices of the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The leak seems to confirm a lot of the information we’ve previously covered, including the introduction of the largest versions of the Pro and Pro Max categories to date, with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively.
Apple Intelligence support for every phone isn’t surprising. Apple has already said you’ll need an iPhone with an A17 or later processor, and all new phones are expected to feature the A18 system-on-chip. In the case of the Pro models, Apple appears to be working on a Pro version of the A18.
The rumored specs include some potential disappointments. If you’re still hoping for an iPhone 16 Ultra, the Apple Hub leaks don’t include any mention of the legendary device. An Ultra version of the iPhone could launch next year alongside the much-rumored iPhone 17 Slim.
Battery life could also be a challenge for the iPhone 16 Pro, as it will have a smaller battery capacity compared to the Plus and Pro Max versions. But then again, there’s not a lot of room in the smaller iPhone 16 Pro even with the larger screen.
Rumors have circulated that the entire iPhone 16 lineup will get Wi-Fi 7 connectivity, but if this spec chart is accurate, only the Pro models will offer this feature. The Pro cameras should also be a bit better with a 48MP ultra-wide camera and 5x optical zoom on both the Pro and Pro Max.
We’ll definitely know more when Apple unveils its flagship lineup at its September event. Stay tuned to Tom’s Guide as we’ll have all the latest updates as they come in.
