A dozen nurses from Surat Hospital in Salaberi-de-Wellfield were involved in a sit-in protest Tuesday evening.

They refused to return to evening work due to fatigue caused by staff and compulsory overtime (OST).
Workers say they fear for their safety and the safety of patients.
“Right now, it’s the day committee to continue the castle. We tried proposals. We asked for the ambulances to be diverted. We were refused. Announced in an interview.
“With every schedule that starts, there is already a shortage of staff, so people are coming back to work and they are well aware of what OSI has to do,” said another nurse.
The sit-in lasted several hours, but just before 10pm, Surat hospital staff decided to return to work.
The union told TVA Nouvelles that the employer had threatened to sue the executive labor tribunal.
