“We must stop violating this law,” the Quebec mayor wrote in a message posted on Facebook on Sunday. Bruno Marchant took to his pen to say the next meeting between Prime Ministers Justin Trudeau and François Legault “must happen.”[ne] In Quebec, provided by law.
The mayor criticizes the recent holding of two proceedings that should have taken place in Quebec, but instead one took place in Montreal and the other in Languedoc. He's talking about the meeting between Prime Ministers Trudeau and Legault on Friday and the finance minister's press conference the day before the provincial budget is tabled.
Bruno Marchant writes that he He expressed the opinion that it would have been desirable if there had been [la conférence de presse du ministre Girard] Taking place in Quebec, it's clumsy on the government's part but [qu’il] Optional[it] [se] Focus on budget content

Friday's meeting seems to have irritated him even more. I cannot show the same composure when faced with the decision to hold a meeting between the Canadian and Quebec premiers in Montreal on Friday.
This meeting undeniably fits within the category of important gatherings of capital-nation law [sic] Quebec plans to host a “privilege and priority location” in the city.
I expect the minister responsible for the national capital and all elected officials in the region, at all levels, to reiterate the importance of this meeting taking place in Quebec. Our national capital should be a compulsion, not a hindrance. The next official meetings with heads of state and the government will apparently be held in Quebec.
National Capital Act
Bill 109, adopted in 2016, referred to by Bruno Marchant, Legislation granting Quebec City the status of national capital and increasing its autonomy and powers

By adopting this text, the National Assembly approved the changes made to the charter of Quebec City. so, The territory of the city is a place of privilege and priority [pour] Meetings, important political meetings and important negotiations of all kinds, in which the Quebec government participates

In his message on Sunday, the mayor quoted Eric Keir as saying when adopting the legislation: It's one thing to say Quebec is the capital, quite another to act on it.
He says he understands that many reasons make dating in Montreal easier, but he believes in itWe must make the necessary efforts to demonstrate the importance of our attachment to Quebec
.
Would you like to respond to the request of the Mayor of Quebec? We asked Legault's office. At the time of publishing this text, we have not received a response.
