Steve Cohen is cautiously optimistic about the Mets’ World Series hopes
Owner Steve Cohen talks about the Mets’ offseason and how he thinks the team can compete for the World Series if things fall their way.

New York announced Tuesday that it will open a membership only behind the right-hand fence at Citi Field this season called the Cadillac Club of Payson, in honor of founding owner Joanne Whitney Payson.
Team spokeswoman Katie Agustin said front-row membership costs $24,999 per seat.
Rows 3 and 4, the only areas currently available in the 100-seat Club, cost $19,000 per seat. Members may purchase guest passes, with cost and availability varying by date. The Mets said the club would be limited to 25 to 30 members.
The clubhouse is climate controlled and includes a private bar with field views, lounge seating, flat screen televisions, in-seat storage and personal beverage coolers. Concierge is provided at the playground. Food, wine, beer, and soft drinks are included, and cocktails are available.
Payson owned the Mets from the time the team began play in 1962 until her death in 1975.
Entering its third season of ownership by Stephen Cohen, New York boosted its payroll to $370 million, surpassing the previous record of $297.9 million set by the 2015 Los Angeles Dodgers. The Mets’ luxury tax payroll projects to about $390 million, which would result in a tax bill of about $116 million.
