Michelle Yeoh to star in Wicked as Madame Morrible (Exclusive)

The “Everything Everywhere Every Time” star will play Madame Morehy, the warden of Cage Hall at XYZ University.

Ariana Grande stars as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba. Universal Pictures films are scheduled for Christmas releases in 2024 and 2025.

“Wicked” is a prequel to “The Wizard of Oz”, and tells the story of Elphaba’s transformation into the Wicked Witch of the West and how Glinda becomes the Good Witch.

“We decided to give ourselves a bigger canvas and make not just one but two ‘Bad’ movies,” Chu wrote in a statement when the studio announced the adaptation would come in two parts. “With more space, we can tell the ‘Wicked’ story as it was meant to be told while bringing more depth and surprise to these beloved characters’ journeys.”
