Deeply worried, the mother of a 16-year-old boy from Montreal’s South Shore who has been missing for days is fighting to find him safe and sound.
“I want him to know that the whole family loves him and that we’re here to help him. He needs to come back,” sighed Melissa Duplantis Olette, 36.
On January 24, Loick Charlebois-Bruce was last seen around 7pm in the Saint-Hubert area of Longueuil. Melissa Duplantis Ouellet says that before she left, she told her father she was having suicidal thoughts, which made him fear for her safety.
“I tried to write to him, but his phone is switched off. I wrote to him that I was worried and that I love him,” she adds, shocked by the turn of events.

According to the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Service (SPAL), the teenager is in the Longueuil area or on the south coast. A search notice was issued on January 24 to trace him. His family and the police have said they fear for his safety.
Loick Charlebois-Bruce has been going through a tough time lately. This is not the first time the teenager has run away. However, he was finally found after two days.
According to his parents, he was spotted in the Langueil metro in the days following his escape. He stays with new friends that his parents don’t know.
“I got two addresses from a source who knew where he was hiding, but he might already be gone. The parents who live at these addresses say they’ve never seen Laic,” laments Melissa LaRose.
Call for help
On social media, the teenager’s mother pleaded with the parents of Lok’s friends to bring him home.
“Regardless of your principles and your beliefs, know that not only me, his mother or his father, but also his brother and his two little sisters are suffering not knowing where he is,” he wrote on Facebook Friday night.
“What you feel as a mom in these situations is indescribable, I have no words to describe what you are going through, the children and the family…”, breathes Melissa LaRose.
The young man is 5’11” tall and weighs 60 kg (132 lbs). He has black hair and blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black coat and black “joggers” style pants with white stripes.
Anyone with information on Loick Charlebois-Bruce is asked to contact police by dialing 911.
