The reception room at the Mont Édouard ski resort in L’Anse-Saint-Jean was completely destroyed by flames on Friday afternoon.
A public alarm was sounded by the Fjord Intermunicipal Fire Safety Authority (RISIF).
Firefighters confirmed the building was a total loss.
Firefighters from five fire stations were called to intervene.
At around 7pm, the last fire was extinguished. Only the shell of the building remained.
Not spread to other buildings. No one was injured in the fire.
The black smog is impressive.

Many witnesses at the site
Several people closely involved in the management of the mountain went to the scene to see the extent of the fire.
The building is so badly damaged that it looks like what you would probably call a total loss. […] Firefighters have surrounded the building, apparently protecting the surrounding buildings. The fire is more intense and then we start to see more of the structure of the building. The entire outer casing is starting to come off
Shortly before 6 p.m., Louis Tremblay-Poirot, co-owner of Saguenay Adventures, was 300 meters from the fire when he was interviewed on the show. Public space.
The fire is fierce.

Last fall, the station was placed under creditor protection before a rescue plan was implemented. It belongs to the municipality of L’Anse-Saint-Jean.
Jacques Chounard, president of the Friends of Mont-Edouard, saw the sad scene.
I see the building diminishing, falling from all sides and from all sides. Before, it was kind of bang on, maybe propane bottles or I don’t know what really, oil or heating.
The organization raised funds to ensure the station’s survival.
Many curious people watch this scene.

At the other end of the shop, it burns like a fire. We could not recognize even a part of the building, it was almost burnt down. It appears that the kitchen caught fire, then the front area at the other end of the crescent, which is the reception, ticket office, windows, doors, roof were crushed. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s so inspiring, it’s incredible!
He added shortly before 6 p.m.
A number of cabins and condominiums can be found in Alpine Village, located near the resort.
