Montreal North | One person was injured in the armed attack

An 18-year-old man was injured in the upper body by a sharp object during an alleged confrontation in Montreal-North Borough. We are not in fear for our lives, said the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM).


On Sunday around 7 p.m., a 911 call was received near the intersection of Rue de Dijon and Avenue B.M. about a man who had been stabbed with a sharp object. Flavier, in the borough of Montreal-Nord.

Police arrived at the scene and found the victim: an 18-year-old man, conscious and suffering from sharp injuries. He was taken to hospital.

“We are not afraid for our lives,” SPVM spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils said during an update on the incident.

According to initial reports, a scuffle broke out between the victim and the suspect – the latter fled before police arrived.

“No arrests have been made at this time, the investigation is ongoing,” Caroline Chevrefils said.

A perimeter has been set up to secure the scene so that investigators and forensic identification technicians can analyze it and try to understand the exact circumstances of the incident. Witnesses were interviewed by the police. Also, the canine unit was also called to the spot to search for evidence.
