Montreal: Shots fired at a house in Riviere-des-Prairies

Montreal police are investigating a shooting at a home in a residential area of ​​Riviere-des-Prairies between Thursday and Friday.

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) was called just after 2:30 a.m. to a house on Avenue Lorenzo-Prince, near Avenue Jules-Tremblay, for broken glass.

When police arrived at the scene, they found at least one firearm on the facade of one of the apartments in the building.

According to SPVM spokesperson Jean Drouin, two people who were shot were inside the home, but fortunately were not injured.

According to preliminary information, the suspects fled in an unknown direction before police arrived, Officer Drouin said.

Witnesses were interviewed by police trying to see possible surveillance cameras that may have captured the shooting.

A perimeter was set up to secure the spot, while investigators and forensic identification technicians had to go to the scene to shed light on what had happened.
