A girl was allegedly attempted to abduct a child Thursday evening, very close to the Beaudry metro station in Montreal.
She was arrested two hours after the incident.
The incident took place around 7:20pm at the back of a residential building on Montcalm Street near the intersection of De Maisonneuve Boulevard.
According to our information, the suspect tried to abduct the child from the back of the building, but the neighbors immediately intervened and foiled the woman’s plan.
They quickly called 911 to report the incident.
After the failed kidnapping, the suspect fled immediately.

The authorities quickly realized the seriousness of the matter and an intensive search was launched in the area to find the author of this daylight crime.
Then the police gave a good explanation about the person who tried to kidnap the child
“We deployed a lot of staff on the ground, specifically to confirm information, to go door-to-door and meet with other witnesses of the event,” said agent Véronique Dubuc, spokeswoman for the Montreal police.

Two hours after the incident, the police were able to nab a woman, whose age has not been specified, through hard work.
He was arrested around 9:20 p.m., police officials confirmed. Investigators were to meet her in the evening.
The child, whose exact gender and age were not released by police, was not injured.
