Montreal police are investigating two suspicious vehicle fires that occurred within about 15 minutes of each other overnight from Monday to Tuesday, three kilometers apart.
Around 1:30 p.m., firefighters from the Montreal Fire Department (CIM) were called to Avenue des Recolets near Rue Moncelette in the borough of Montreal-Nord for a vehicle parked on the side of the road.

Not long after the fire was brought under control, they received a second call, this time to a burning vehicle parked on 41st Street near Boulevard Pie-IX in the Saint-Michel district.
Both scenes have been turned over to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), which will investigate whether they are connected, although spokesman Julien Levesque says it is “too early” at this time to make a connection between the two investigations. SPVM.

He said the exact origin of the fire had yet to be determined, indicating that it was too early to know whether there might have been traces of accelerants at the scene.
