NBA Free Agency: Warriors Sign Donte De Vincenzo

On the second day of 2022 Free NBA Agency period, and Golden State Warriors They signed their first player from outside the organization: top flight goalkeeper Donte DiVincenzo.

Dubs have reportedly signed DiVincenzo on a two-year, $9.3 million deal, with a player option in the second year.

That’s a much smaller financial commitment than DiVincenzo’s, Gary Payton II – who got Three-year deal worth $28 million From Portland Trail Blazers. Given that Veterans are currently taxed for every dollar of paycheck (yes, that’s the official amount), the difference between the financial statements for the two deals is quite significant.

DiVincenzo, at 6’4 and 25, was the 17th pick overall in the 2018 draft by Milwaukee Bucks. He spent parts of four seasons with Milwaukee, but last year he traded in Sacramento KingsWhere the season ended.

He played some of his best in basketball with the Kings, averaging 10.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game, while shooting 36.8% from a three-point range.

He’s never fully assembled in the NBA, but he’s an upstairs player who can hold his own at every stage of the game. He has great sportsmanship, so Warriors will likely be excited about how he fits into the offensive system as a cutter, shooter, and transitional force. He also has a lot of defensive potential.

DiVincenzo is best known for his jumping ability, having scored a vertical 42 inches in a pre-draft set. It’s safe to say that he and Andrew Wiggins will be teaming up with some of the divers at Chase Center this season.
