In a press release, the Ministry of Health and Social Services announced on Thursday that it would assume responsibility for the residence “to assume temporary management of this CHSLD” for 180 days.
A press release signed by Health Minister Christian Dubé and Elders Marguerite Blaise said the findings of mandatory investigator Michael Delamare were worrying.
“Investigator’s preliminary findings reveal that CHSLD engages in or tolerates situations that may compromise the health or well-being of people welcomed there. Care,” it pointed out.

“CHSLD appears to be experiencing difficulties that seriously compromise the quality of the health and social services it provides, its organization and its operations.”
Floralies Residences is saddened by four deaths among its residents who contracted Group A streptococcus in the past few days. A total of six cases of the virus have been identified.
Many problem cases
Families have evacuated their loved ones from the Floralis residences.
Lise Bourbonnais Brouillette spoke a few days ago about the treatment her mother received during her month-long stay at the Floralies de LaSalle this summer.
“One day, she got a three-inch cut on her arm, the skin was torn, there were bruises and stitches on her face,” he said last Monday.
Some of the more complicated situations go back a few years. Sophie Gagne said her grandparents had no surveillance in 2019.
“My grandmother was suffocating, so we put the cabaret next to her. She didn’t sit down for dinner. If there was no family, she didn’t eat,” shared the man who lost his mother on July 30.
According to TVA Nouvelles, last June, the apartment’s managers fired a nurse because she requested the services of a sex worker.
“There are well-founded complaints, said Benoit Lelouche, one of the co-owners of the Floralies residences last week. Once they were able to identify those responsible, they immediately left the residence. There are marginalized employees: orderlies, assistant nurses and nurses.
“It’s horrible,” he continued. They are there to protect […]. I feel sorry for the families, what happened. We will try to regain their trust.”
