@Not_Soos I have 60 volumes… 38 categorized by genres like 2D platformer, RPG, visual novel, roguelike, etc. Then I have 22 more folders for things like ratings 1-10, completion status, archived games, and just the full list of games. I've spent a lot of time organizing my folders, but before that it was a complete mess.
@HalBailman I mean… they called them collections, but that's exactly what this specific type of folder happened to be called (in English). If they had called them folders instead would it have changed anything? I think they brought collections/folders to Switch when enough people had a large number of games that it didn't work for those people relying on a large list. The average number of games per Switch may only be around 10, but a lot of people have dozens and of course silly people like me have hundreds. So it's definitely not needed by everyone, but it's very useful and appreciated by a minority. Plus you can use them as tags and notes which is useful.
@-wc- Out of curiosity, what features do you want with your folders? All I really wanted was to organize my games easily which is really a combination of labeling them and sticking them in places where they can be easily found, which is what Switch decks do.
