Ronda Rousey’s match against Liv Morgan in the premier live event at SummerSlam Saturday is said to have “cut a lot of time” due to the lack of time.
according to Brian Alvarez From The Wrestling Observer, The Miz’s match against Logan Paul went longer than expected, forcing the WWE Producers to interrupt Rousey vs. Morgan for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
While The Miz’s match against Paul lasted 14 minutes and 15 seconds, Rossi’s match against Morgan lasted 4 minutes and 34 seconds.
WWE has also aired several video packages in between the four-hour SummerSlam, featuring professional superstars such as Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Charlotte Flair and Kevin Owens. Alvarez pointed out that the video packages also contributed to the interruption of Rossi’s match against Morgan.
Most of the SmackDown Women’s Title matches are built around Rousey to damage the champion’s arm, forcing the coach to check on Morgan frequently. Continuing to attack Morgan’s arm, Rossi was locked in Armbar, but Morgan stood to put Rossi’s shoulders on the mat for a proven victory. However, Morgan was We click before the judgment is counted to threeEndorsed by broadcasters in the live broadcast. After the match, an enraged Rousey destroys Morgan and puts her in another arm. When the referee tried to contain her, Rousey did the same to him, forcing WWE officials to conduct a tour to restrain her.
The post-match angle essentially created the role of Ronda Rousey’s heel. Since she’s got her hands on a WWE referee, she’s likely to have been suspended or fined for her actions at “SmackDown” next Friday. With Becky Lynch turning into a baby face on the same night, many fans on social media are hoping for Rousey’s long-awaited match against Lynch on the road.
