One abducted in Laval and found in Montreal

A police operation is currently underway to find one of the two men involved in Thursday morning’s kidnapping in Laval, on Fernand-Gauthier Street in the Rivière-des-Prairies district in northeast Montreal.


Around 9:40 a.m., a 911 call came in for a man who had been pushed into a vehicle in the Center Laval parking lot, located on Le Corbusier Boulevard.

Officers dispatched to the scene received a description of the suspects and their vehicle and quickly located them near the mall.

A chase immediately ensued. The suspects and police specifically took Highway 25 around Fernand-Gauthier Street in Montreal’s Riviere-des-Prairies district.

One of the two suspects, a man in his thirties, was soon arrested. The victim, a 59-year-old man, was rescued and taken to hospital for examination.

We don’t know his condition. According to our information, it would be the owner or employee of a jewelry store, however, Laval Police Department spokeswoman Erica Landry could not confirm.
