(Montreal) A 34-year-old man was injured by a projectile from a gun when a parked vehicle was targeted in Montreal Saturday night into Sunday night.

The victim was taken to hospital with upper body injuries, but the Montreal Police Service (SPVM) confirmed early Sunday that his life was not in danger.
The incident took place around 1:45 am. It was around this time that citizens called 9-1-1 that shots had been fired in LaSalle Township, southwest of Rue Bergevin.
When they arrived at the scene, SPVM police officers found a vehicle with a projectile hitting the driver, who was unknown to the police.
A 31-year-old man was also in the passenger seat of the vehicle. The latter was not injured, but the SPVM confirmed that he was known to its investigators.
According to initial information from the Municipal Police, two people were in a parked car when the occupant or occupants opened fire as another vehicle approached.
No immediate arrests were made as the suspect vehicle fled before police arrived.
The scene, located at the intersection of Bergevin and Clement streets, has been secured to allow investigators and forensic identification technicians to pick up clues.
SPVM canine unit was also sent to the spot and witnesses were met during the night.
