Ontario woman wakes up from coma days before wedding

A London, Ont., woman who took two years to prepare for her wedding fell into a deep coma in a hospital after medical complications before waking up four days before D-Day.

Sarah Kempinski underwent routine surgeries to remove growths in her airways, and after a long recovery, her condition worsened with difficulty breathing.

Rushed to a hospital on May 23, Ms. Cheminska was injected and placed in a medically induced coma as her meticulously planned wedding was scheduled to take place on June 3, Global News reported Thursday.

As her health worsened, a whole life plan was in danger of going up in smoke for the young woman who saved all her savings and successfully married her lover, but fate wanted that plan not to fall into the water.

After efforts by the hospital’s medical team, Sarah awoke from her coma as her fiance Jim Kelly took care of the follow-up arrangements.

“About three days before the wedding, Jim and I discussed alternate dates on the phone with the wedding venue because we weren’t sure if it would work,” Ms. Kempinska recounted.
