The City of Rivière-du-Loup invites residents and families to discover their brand new fire station during an inaugural open house event on Saturday, September 16th from 1pm to 4pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to take a complete tour
The fire department’s new headquarters, personnel, all fire protection services and equipment, 24/7 guard living areas, as well as work or training locations, notably the regional training center of Quebec’s National Fire School.
Firefighters will be sent along the route to answer various questions and talk to citizens, who will be able to see the trucks up close. Not only that, the big ladder will also be put up for the event… Who dares to reach its upside-down top wearing a battle suit? Also on site: skill games for kids, photobooth, drinks and surprises.
It should also be noted that the parking lot behind the fire station is strictly reserved for the use of firefighters at all times to ensure rapid dispatch of personnel in the event of an intervention. Upon their arrival on Saturday, citizens will be able to park on rue des Cheminodes or nearby residential streets, as well as next to Soucy Industriel, which will offer its space for the duration of the event.
If it rains, the outdoor activity will be postponed until the day after tomorrow. The announcement will be posted on the VilleRDL.ca home page and on the City’s Facebook page.
