“The Last of Us” is like “This is us,” huh?

Well, that’s… my job!!!

Pedro Pascal He says he’s aware that this new HBO show, “The Last of Us,” is being compared to another “Us” series…and his response to that is, take it up with the book.

We caught the TV star on a Friday in WeHo, where he was signing autographs and eager to leave. Before he did, PP chipped it off with us a bit…and we asked him why would LOU keep introducing great characters we all love, only to kill them off right away?

If this gut-shredding TV looks familiar, that’s because it’s… AKA, NBC’s “This Is Us,” which is a real tear-jerker and also tends to write characters off at any given moment.

Pedro says he thinks the pain viewers go through by briefly meeting/losing on-screen favorites like Bill and Frank (RIP), Tess (also RIP) and more recently, Riley (maybe RIP?) is really worth it. He doesn’t really explain why… but he probably knows, that’s just good TV.

When we pressed a little bit more, he kind of shrugged and said… hey, I’m just acting. In other words, trans characters aren’t his calling — and that’s honest.

Our photo also touched on another topic that gets brought up again and again throughout this first season… LGBTQ+ representation. Some of the names above actually fit into that, and Pedro says… yeah, that’s important.

He doesn’t provide an easy answer as to why though…he thinks we already know.
