A huge fire broke out in a three-story apartment building in Quebec City around 6pm on Monday.
About 45 firefighters from the Quebec Fire Service (SPCIQ) intervened in a 6-apartment building on Avenue de Beanville in Montcom district.
No one was injured during the intervention, but the building suffered significant fire and water damage.
Residents of the two houses were noticed by the Red Cross, and some residents wanted to go to relatives.
When the first units arrived, there was a lot of smoke in the surrounding streets. Considering the proven campaign and the risks of over-deployment, SPCIQ has asked to send additional staff.
At 7.40pm, the situation was declared “under control”.
Two cats found unconscious were found in an apartment by firefighters. Firefighters then made contractions and gave them oxygen, but they unfortunately died.
