The incident took place just before 11 a.m. on the west side of Highway 20 near Avenue Toniada (318 km). According to our information, at least twenty vehicles will be involved.
The Sûreté du Québec (SQ), Ministry of Emergency Services and Transport (MTQ) is currently on site to assess the damage. The area was closed to traffic for officers to carry out their duties.
“Fortunately, there were no injuries and no one was in jail. A dozen vehicles, including two heavy trucks, had to be towed,” said Patrick Valiers of the Lewis Fire Department.
MTQ invites people to be extra careful on the roads due to capricious weather and to postpone their trip if possible.
