When police arrived at the scene, firefighters from the Quebec Fire Protection Service (SPCIQ) had already brought the situation under control, but investigators noted the suspicious nature of the fire at the site.

A few hours later, the SPVQ confirmed the criminal and intentional nature of the fire.

“The fire commissioner was called to the spot. “An investigation is underway to shed light on the circumstances of the fire,” said William Robitaille, a spokesman for the police force.

Although the fire did not spread to other businesses, the damage to the building was still significant. Note, however, that no injuries were sustained in this event.
