Pink Set to Headline Final Night of Democratic National Convention in Chicago – NBC Chicago

Pop star Pink will close out the star-studded Democratic National Convention this week, performing ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’ acceptance speech on the final night of the four-day event.

Pink is expected to perform Thursday, a person familiar with the planning who spoke on condition of anonymity told The Associated Press.

Other performances expected for the fourth and final day of the event have not yet been announced.

Meanwhile, celebrity entertainer John Legend will perform Wednesday before Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the vice presidential candidate, speaks.

Legend will be among several major artists scheduled to take the stage on Wednesday.

Country singer Maren Morris and legendary icon Stevie Wonder will also be performing at the event.

Legend will pay “homage to two Minnesota icons” during his performance on the third day of the convention at the United Center, according to convention organizers. Legend will perform music by Prince, who lived in Minnesota, alongside Walz, who will take the stage Wednesday night to accept the Democratic nomination for vice president.

Emily Song, a spokeswoman for the conference, confirmed that Stevie Wonder will not only perform, but also speak on the third night of the event.

Earlier in the convention, Lil Jon surprised the crowd with an appearance during Tuesday’s roll call while DJ Cassidy played tunes on stage, Common and Patti LaBelle also performed, and Mickey Guyton and Jason Isbell headlined the first night of the convention. James Taylor was expected to perform Monday, but his appearance was canceled due to timing delays before President Joe Biden’s speech.
