A major police operation ended with the arrest of six people, including a woman, in the Beauport department of Quebec on Monday evening.
The Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) indicated that the suspects, aged between 33 and 60, were arrested by the Tactical Intervention Team (GTI) for “negligent possession of a firearm”.
Police were called to a residence on Antoine-Breton Street around 5 p.m. after receiving reports of individuals with firearms.
As several patrol vehicles quickly converged on the area, police arrested the first suspect on the spot. During the operation, the tactical intervention team arrested five other people from the residence.
Investigators were to meet the suspects, the SPVQ noted, a security perimeter was erected around the residence and two dog handlers were called in.

A search of the premises resulted in the seizure of 1,000 methamphetamine pills, 90 Viagra pills, 50 Cialis pills and 5 grams of MDMA.
Officers seized an air pistol, a bulletproof vest, a dozen 12-gauge bullets and a 2016 Jeep Grand-Cherokee valued at $20,000 as crime property.
SPVQ spokeswoman Sandra Dion said: “The three men will appear on Tuesday for firearms offences, trespassing, breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit criminal harassment and drug possession.
The other arrested persons were released without charge. Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
