Reports say new ‘Star Wars’ movie is coming from show maker ‘Watchmen’

Media reports have said that a new “Star Wars” movie is in development with two already popular names attached.

Damon Lindelof of “Lost,” “The Leftovers” and “Watchmen” co-wrote the new Lucasfilm movie, with “Mrs. Marvel” Charmaine Obaid Chinoy signing on to the live-action film, it was reported. Media entertainment website deadline.

Obaid Chinoy is best known for directing her Academy Award-winning short documentaries “Saving Face” and “Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”.

There is no release date for the movie, and the plot of the movie is still on the roll. Co-writer Lindelof has yet to be reported. But the upcoming movie marks the first Star Wars movie to hit theaters since 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a huge success for the franchise, grossing $1 billion at the global box office. The studio has recently focused its efforts on Disney + live action movie seriesincluding “The Mandalorian”, “The Book of Boba Fett”, “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and “Andor”.
