The individual faces charges of manslaughter and dangerous driving following a violent, double-fatal collision in the Rivière-au-Renard sector in Gaspé last May.

The accused’s lawyer tried to convince the judge to grant acquittal at the High Court in Persey on Thursday.

The 18-year-old’s grandparents broke down in tears following the verdict.

A publication ban prevents disclosure of testimony heard in court.

The file will be returned on December 11.

Two weeks ago, her father, Marc-Jules Choinard, who was accused of being involved in the tragedy, was able to regain his freedom on the condition that he set a large bail and respect ten conditions.
